I have observed that our parents, collectively, seem to internalize, A LOT, when we do things differently or on our own. But, the bottom line is that is, that's THEIR stuff, not ours. It's part of growing and becoming who we are supposed to be. We've never met but, from what I can tell, your parenting is spot-on...if down-and-dirty, split-second decision-making. I thi...So much depends on the child's personality. I think my folks were approachable but I was very reticent. I didn't share much at all. Not because I didn't trust them, I just kept my own counsel. And not just about sex but about money and other stuff.
