Lauren and I made a loaf of banana bread with some overripe bananas. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't think this up, I read it in a magazine. I felt so silly. Anyway, this is nut-free because we wanted Lindsay to be able to have some. It made the house smell wonderful, and it looks remarkably like bread. Lauren agrees it tastes pretty good also.
Lindsay decided yesterday that she was done with baby food. She wants table food. We made an emergency run to the grocery store to pick up some canned fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed some "institutional vegetables" (peas and cubed carrots) along with some pasta with tomato sauce for lunch...
...with peaches and pears for dessert. If she could talk beyond "uh oh" and "duhk" she would say, "Don't help me. I can do it myself".

OK. that is by far the cutest picture of Lindsay to-date. She looks so proud of herself!! :) And the banana bread looks pretty good too!!
I can't remember the last time I had banana bread... Mandie HATES bananas... so there's no real point to having it. *sniff*
@Michelle: She is a cutie. The banana bread isn't bad either.
@Rob: *laughs* I forgot how much Mandie hates bananas. Funny.
Lindsay looks just like Alec would, if he'd eaten the canary!
Hmm, that looks tasty!
My address is...
I love banana bread and have about 4 recipes I regularly use. Just now while riffling through the spiral sketchbook in which I keep all my written/printed/clipped recipes I came across one of my banana bread recipes. Eleven years ago Sybil wrote it out for me on the back of a wedding registry from Crate (we were at work). All the time I've had that thing and I didn't notice until just now whose registry it was - Heather A Fisher and Alec J Stoll.
Nice looking bread!
You have a beautiful baby too!
Thanks for sharing.
